Job Description

The Tool Room Attendant is responsible for the daily management, organization, and maintenance of the company’s tool inventory. This role ensures that all tools, equipment, and materials are properly stored, tracked, and readily available to support field operations and projects. The position requires attention to detail, organizational skills, and adherence to safety and operational procedures.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, and verify all incoming tools, equipment, and materials.
  • Issue tools and equipment to field crews and track usage.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records using the company’s tracking system.
  • Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and calibration of tools and equipment.
  • Ensure the tool room is organized, clean, and complies with safety standards.
  • Identify worn, damaged, or missing tools and coordinate replacements or repairs.
  • Assist in the preparation of tools and materials for specific projects or job sites.
  • Enforce tool return policies and ensure all issued equipment is accounted for.
  • Support inventory audits and reporting as required by management.
  • Follow all company policies, safety regulations, and procedures.

Skills & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade training is a plus.
  • Previous experience in a tool room, warehouse, or industrial environment preferred.
  • Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
  • Basic knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and industrial equipment.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and handle heavy tools and equipment safely.
  • Attention to detail and reliability.
  • Basic computer skills (email, excel, word).
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems is an advantage.

Working Conditions

  • Primarily based in the tool room/warehouse with occasional support in the field.
  • May require extended periods of standing, lifting, and manual handling.
  • Adherence to all safety protocols, including PPE usage, is required.
