Patent Attorney (Electrical Engineering)

Hybrid (Seattle, WA)

Our client is a highly regarded intellectual property boutique with a national reputation and multiple Best Law Firms rankings. The firm is also consistently recognized as a top workplace and a leader in attorney diversity.

The firm is seeking an electrical engineering patent attorney with experience drafting and prosecuting patents related to semiconductor devices, chip architecture, and integrated circuits. This role includes advising clients on patentability, freedom-to-operate, and broader IP strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft and prosecute U.S. and foreign patent applications
• Conduct patentability, FTO, and landscape analyses
• Respond to office actions and manage ongoing prosecution matters
• Collaborate with clients, inventors, and internal teams on IP strategy
• Support development and management of client IP portfolios

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of patent prosecution experience (law firm or in-house)
• Electrical engineering background
• Strong writing, research, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• USPTO registration required
• Admission and good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
• Authorization to work in the U.S.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: $200,000–$240,000 , depending on experience, plus performance-based bonus eligibility.
