Mechanical Maintenance Technician – Second Shift Germantown, MD (with travel throughout DC, MD, VA) Full-time | Tuesday–Saturday, 2:30 PM–11:00 PM $23.50–$30.00/hr + $1.00/hr second shift differential Join Fresh Baguette's Growing Maintenance Team! We're expanding our Maintenance Team and looking for a skilled, hands-on Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join our second shift. If you're a proactive troubleshooter with experience working with bakery machinery, HVAC systems, and mechanical components—and you want to be part of a company that values your expertise—this role is for you! What You'll Do Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on bakery production machinery (e.g., ovens, mixers) and coffee shop equipment (e.g., automatic espresso machines) Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on bakery equipment and coffee shop systems to minimize downtime Install, replace, lubricate, and clean mechanical parts and systems in both production and retail environments Maintain HVAC units, plumbing, electrical systems, walk-in coolers/freezers, and other building infrastructure Document maintenance activities and parts used through our computerized maintenance system (CMMS) Communicate clearly using digital tools to coordinate with team members and management Maintain tools, parts inventory, and keep maintenance areas clean and organized Travel regularly to production center and retail locations using a company vehicle Assist with equipment upgrades and collaborate on maintenance scheduling with managers Take on other duties as needed to support smooth operations What You'll Bring High school diploma or equivalent (required) Valid driver's license and authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship EPA or CFC Certification (required) Strong mechanical aptitude with experience troubleshooting HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team Excellent organizational and communication skills Physical capability to lift 50+ lbs and work on your feet for extended periods Willingness to travel regularly to multiple production bakery and coffee shop locations Preferred Extras OSHA certification, low-voltage safety, or first aid certification Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) designation Your Training Schedule Initial training: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM Post-training shift: Tuesday–Saturday, 2:30 PM–11:00 PM What We Offer ~ Competitive pay with second shift differential ~ Health, dental, and vision insurance ~401(k) plan with company match ~ Paid time off and employee discounts ~ Opportunities for career growth and professional development Work Environment This role is primarily based at our Germantown Production Center, with regular travel to production bakery and bakery cafe retail locations across DC, Maryland, and Virginia.
