Hursh Painting Company is a second-generation, family-owned contractor specializing in commercial, residential, and industrial painting and wallcovering across South Central and Southeastern Pennsylvania. What You'll Do as an Estimator:

  • Review project plans, specifications, and requirements to prepare accurate cost estimates.
  • Perform quantity take-offs and pricing using company standards, updating rates as needed.
  • Assemble bid packages, prepare proposals, and attend pre-bid meetings or site visits.
  • Write project specifications for design/build work and document missing or unclear details with RFIs.
  • Secure vendor and subcontractor pricing and maintain organized bid files.
  • Support project managers with purchasing, change orders, and contract interpretations.
  • Assist teammates with project proposals and conceptual budgets.
  • Collaborate in estimating team meetings to plan and refine processes.
  • Travel occasionally to job sites within roughly an hour of Brownstown, with most of your time spent in the office.

Our Ideal Estimator:

  • Experienced: 5+ years of experience estimating commercial, residential, or industrial painting projects, or a background in finishing trades is preferred. Advanced blueprint reading ability is a plus.
  • Detail-oriented: Maintains accuracy and thoroughness in estimates, documentation, and recordkeeping.
  • Analytical & Reliable: Evaluates plans and data to solve problems effectively and follows through consistently.
  • Collaborative & Professional: Builds trust with colleagues, contractors, and clients while demonstrating integrity and alignment with company values.
  • Tech-savvy: Proficient with Microsoft Office programs, quick to learn new software, and open to using AI tools as appropriate for estimating and documentation.
  • Physical Ability: Able to sit for extended periods, visit job sites in varying conditions, work at heights, and lift up to 75 pounds when needed.
