A well-established engineering firm specializing in planning, infrastructure, and environmental design across the Southeastern U.S. is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer focused on water and wastewater treatment plant projects. This remote role involves designing electrical systems for municipal facilities with occasional travel to client sites and the office. Electrical Design Engineer Responsibilities

• Design electrical systems for water and wastewater treatment plant projects, including new builds and upgrades
• Develop circuitry and system layouts primarily for voltages up to 13.2KV and 480V control voltages
• Collaborate with project managers to ensure accurate and timely completion of designs
• Perform mostly remote design work with occasional site visits to client facilities
• Utilize AutoCAD and Microsoft Office tools to prepare detailed electrical plans
• Support coordination between engineering teams and construction phases
• Assist with troubleshooting design challenges during project lifecycle

Electrical Design Engineer Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an ABET-accredited electrical engineering program required
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in electrical engineering design; 4+ years preferred
• EIT certification acceptable; PE license preferred, especially with LA, MS, or AL licensure
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications
• Strong communication skills for collaborating with engineers, project managers, and clients
• Ability to work primarily remotely with occasional travel
• Experience with commercial or municipal electrical system design
