Malama leverages the best of technology and people to deliver exceptional care - we build novel biometric tracking and patient engagement tools that allow skilled Care Managers to provide high-touch care navigation and coordination for pregnant and postpartum mothers that improves health outcomes for mom and baby.

We’ve raised $1.5M in venture funding to date and are on target to hit profitability early this year. Our mission is to improve pregnancy-related outcomes beginning with conditions that disproportionately affect historically underserved groups.

Position: Community Health Worker

We’re looking for a dedicated Community Health Worker (CHW) to run outreach and enrollment efforts for pregnant and postpartum members in our community. In this role, you’ll be the first point of connection—building trust, helping families understand their benefits, and making sure they can access the care and support they deserve.

Key Responsibilities:

• Community Outreach - Engage with pregnant and postpartum individuals through community events, health fairs, clinics, and referral partners; Build strong relationships with local organizations and providers to increase program awareness
• Enrollment & Navigation - Support members with completing forms and enrollment into services, including Medi-Cal–covered benefits. Educate families on available maternal health resources (e.g., doula care, lactation support, housing, nutrition programs)
• Member Support & Follow-Up - Track member needs and barriers to care, connecting them with the right services (housing, food, transportation, etc.); Maintain accurate and timely documentation of outreach and enrollment activities.

Qualifications / Ideal Candidate Profile

• Experience in community outreach, health navigation, or enrollment assistance (1–2 years preferred).
• Familiarity with Medi-Cal, public benefits, or maternal health programs strongly desired.
• A people's person and a team player - You are positive and empathetic serving members/clients and have strong relationship-building skills across diverse populations.
• Mission-driven, Impact-oriented - You are passionate about health, technology, and Malama's mission to improve maternal health outcomes and close equity gaps
• You are fluent in English (written and verbal) and bilingual in Spanish
